Unread Emails appear as Bold Black in 8.5. Can we change it back to Red?

In Release 8.5 unread emails appear as Bold Black, however there is strong demand from our user community to retain the unread documents in Red (as it was in previous releases).

I raised this question in the IBM Open Mic Call August 27, 2009 on "Upgrading to Lotus Domino 8.5" and was referred to technote 1283558.

As detailed in the technote, I have changed the design of all the views and folders and have modified the colour option to red, however still the unread emails are appearing in Bold Black.

Is this some hard coded setting in the mail template or client?

I am looking forward to hear a response
